How to Mirror Android to Amazon fire TV stick

By Astle

Mirroring your Android device to Amazon Fire TV Stick is a great way to share media with friends and family. With this step-by-step guide, we will show you how easy it is! You’ll need:

  • 1) A compatible Android device.
  • 2) An Amazon Fire TV Stick (or any other HDMI stick that will mirror).
  • 3) A wireless router or an Ethernet cable.
  • 4) The latest version of the Google Home app on your phone or tablet.
  • 5) To be on the same Wi-Fi network as your devices are connected to for the best streaming experience possible.

  • Step 1: Connect your Fire TV Stick to the HDMI port on your television. Next, plug in the power cord and follow all prompts from the device. The Amazon FireTV will reboot automatically for a few seconds before turning on completely with an orange light indicator at its base.
  • Step 2: Go into Settings -> Mirroring & Casting -> Enable Screen Mirroring so it is turned ON (green). This may be already enabled if you have previously mirrored another Android or iOS device to it but we recommend double-checking! You can also turn off Display Resolution as this doesn’t matter when mirroring android devices over Wi-Fi networks.
  • Step 3: On your phone, enter the Google Home app by typing “google home” into the search bar. Tap on the hamburger menu in the upper left-hand corner and tap on “More” to enter a new page where you will find Android TV support (it should be near the bottom of the list).
  • Step 4: Once inside, select your FireTV device by tapping it once and then choose mirroring from this dialog box that pops up. This may take several seconds but if everything goes as planned, you’ll see a notification saying “Successfully connected to Mirroring”.
  • Step 5: Return back to Settings -> Display Resolution so we can ensure that it is set to 1080p for the best picture quality! Then press OK when prompted for confirmation! The Amazon FireTV Stick requires 1080p resolution or higher in order to display in mirroring mode.
  • Step 6: Head back to your Android device and press the “Mirror” or “Cast Screen” button that should be near the top of whatever app you’re using. If this doesn’t work, here are some additional steps for solving any issues with Mirror Mode on Amazon FireTV Stick!

– Make sure both devices are connected to the same WiFi network (ensure the password is correct!)

– Ensure Bluetooth is disabled on your phone/tablet as well as speakers if they were previously paired up during this process

– Clear cache by going into Settings -> Apps -> Google Play Services -> Storage

– Restart all apps which may have been running simultaneously when starting mirroring – including screen mirroring apps

– Make sure your router is not blocking mirroring requests by checking the IP address on your settings page. If it shows an IP that starts with 192.168, then you have a problem! It should be something like 54.187 or 216 to allow mirroring through without any issue.
